Refinishing Older Euless Oak and Rental Floors
Euless was a farming community of only a few hundred people in the late 1940s. Then Amon Carter Field opened on the town's eastern edge in 1953, an airline began moving facilities to Euless in 1957, and the population climbed from 4,263 in 1960 to 19,316 in 1970 (Texas State Historical Association). Census estimates still count about 4,900 occupied houses and townhomes in the city built before 1980. Some of them have oak floors that were covered with carpet decades ago. If the boards have only been sanded once or twice, there is usually enough wood above the tongue for another full refinish, and we confirm that at a doorway or closet edge before quoting.
The other half of our Euless refinishing calls come from landlords. About six in ten occupied homes in the city are rented (American Community Survey, 2020 to 2024), and roughly 3,100 of those rentals are houses or townhomes, some with wood floors. Every move scuffs the finish in the hall and living room. When the wear is in the finish and not the wood, a screen and recoat can usually be done in a single working day, without the dust and cost of sanding. Deep gouges, pet stains and water marks still call for sanding or board replacement.
